Coin & Medal Valuation days, Newton Aycliffe, Shildon, Chester-Le-Street, Darlington, Durham city centre & Ferryhill

As part of the services we offer to the public we often run travelling valuation events in Northumberland, Durham & all over Yorkshire

At these events we provide members of the public with immediate no obligation offers on unwanted or inherited coins & medals along with any of the following items, cloth & metal military badges, enamel badges, military headdress & helmets, uniforms, edged weapons, bank notes, postcards,
Military documents, military photographs, Masonic & R.A.O.B medals & jewels, gold & silver pocket watches & watch chains (both working & not working) pre-1947 silver coins in any condition, gold coins, scrap gold & silver in any form including broken jewellery & tableware / tea sets

All of our events run between the hours of 9.30am & 4.30pm

We make a point of running the events in local community centres & church halls & the reason for this is two fold. The main reason is that the rental we pay for the hire of each hall helps to provide much needed revenue to the communities that we hold the events in. (we often give an extra donation to local charities on top of the rental costs) & the other reason is that by keeping the running costs as low as possible. We are able to offer the very best prices for any items that you may wish to consider selling.

Friday 20 May 2016

Butterwick Hospice, Bishop Auckland, Charity Appeal for coins & medals

Butterwick hospice appeals for donations of Coins, Medals, Jewellery & Military items

Butterwick hospice in Bishop Auckland is asking local people to make donations of unwanted & inherited War medals, Badges, Bank notes, Uniforms, Postcards, Pocket watches, Gold & Silver Jewellery & scrap gold items.

The hospice hopes to collect as many items as possible to be sold to raise much needed funds to help keep your local hospice open

The reason that the hospice is asking for donations of all of the above types of items is that on Saturday June 18th they are holding a Grand coin & medal valuation day. On that day the team of experts from the Medal Centre in Hexham will be available at the hospice to offer no obligation valuations on all types of inherited medals & coins & associated items. Nobody will be under any obligation to sell and the idea is that many people may simply wish to have a better idea of what they own & the history behind it.

However the owner of the medal centre Mr Andrew Jukes is one of the countries leading experts in medals & military items and as such he was happy to state that any member of his team will be happy to make an immediate cash offer on the day for any items that local people may wish to sell? & Mr Jukes & his team will make a cash donation to the hospice for any item that they are able to buy on the day of the event

But for members of the public who would like to honour a loved ones memory by donating inherited items to the hospice? Then they can pop along to the hospice on the day or prior to the events and simply donate items to the hospice and the team from the medal centre will convert them in to cash for the hospice at the end of the day when the event finishes at 4.30pm

The hospice understands that it can often be a difficult decision to part with hard earned family medals or associated items? Simply because some people feel a little bit of guilt about parting with such items. However many people are happy to donate items to a good cause in memory of a loved one? And what better way to honour the sacrifice & service of a loved one than donating items to your local hospice to help them support local people in need of care & assistance?

Please do remember that anyone can turn up on the day for a verbal valuation and they are under no obligation to sell or donate anything. However the team from the medal centre will be happy to buy any items that you may wish to sell  on the day? & The hospice will be happy to accept donations prior to the event & on the day

This is a win & win situation for the hospice and it is the hope of the hospice that they will raise as much money as possible either from items donated directly to the hospice to be sold to the medal centre or from money donated to the hospice from the medal centre who will make a donation in cash to the hospice for every item that they are able to buy from the public on the day of the event

Please contact the Butterwick  hospice  on Woodhouse Lane in Bishop Auckland direct to make a donation prior to the event or simply turn up on the day for a valuation and take the option of walking away with a cash sum.the hospice is open Monday – Friday 9. 30am until 4. 30pm to accept donations  - tel 01388 603003  ( sat nav ref DL14 6JU   )
